Your brand is what you’re known for. Like content for a website, that work should come first, the visuals later. You can have the coolest logo around but if your brand is hollow with no backbone, you’re not going to last very long.

I created this one page overview of what a brand is because I wanted to be able to explain it clearly to my clients and also provide them with a reference to go back to if they wanted.
Everyone always thinks it’s a logo. It’s not. Your logo is a visual representation of your brand, like a little signpost, but it’s not your brand.
I figured if I was struggling to explain it and I create designs for a living, then surely non-designers were struggling, too.
